Macintosh Onsite Service Technician for House Calls

Mac House Calls, a division of Computer Stores Northwest (CSNW), has been serving the Mac community of the Pacific Northwest for over 20 years. Our goal is to provide our clients with an outstanding service experience. To achieve this goal we focus on the client! We can fix almost any Mac problem, but more importantly we develop an ongoing relationship with our clients by focusing on how they use their Mac and what they use it for. Mac House Calls works with our clients to solve all of their Mac needs.

We are currently in search of adding an Onsite Technician to our Seattle team. This position requires travel to customer locations throughout Western Washington, with little or no overnight travel required. Pay will depend on your experience.

The Onsite Technician’s role is to provide technical support for the Macintosh platform for CSNW at the client’s location. Only experienced Macintosh users will be considered for this position.

All CSNW employees are to portray professionalism, ethical behavior and effective decision-making at all times. They interact with co-workers, staff and customers in a friendly, ‘service’ atmosphere. This job requires a balance of time and personnel management, as well as, establishing and maintaining a positive, harmonious work environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Customer Service

  • Ensure the highest levels of customer service are maintained at all times
  • Work fluidly to produce quick, accurate service to customers
  • Be helpful, professional and polite at all times

Onsite Service Technician for House Calls

  • Travel to client sites within the Seattle Metro area
  • Install hardware including desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, routers, switches, PDA’s and all related peripherals.
  • Quickly and accurately diagnose hardware/software problems including desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, routers, switches, PDA’s and all related peripherals.
  • Perform hardware repairs on applicable Apple products at client location.
  • Identify customer needs and make hardware/software recommendations.
  • Understand and implement cross-platform networking.
  • Accurately document all work done on work orders.
  • Respond in a timely manner to all customer requests made by email, phone, co-workers or in person.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of hardware, software and peripherals.
  • Research to provide solutions that you do not have and immediate answer for.
  • Aid in the training of new technician’s
  • Adapt to an ever changing industry and responsibilities as they arise
  • Support company goals and objectives
  • Follow all company rules and policies
  • Directly report to the IrisInk Sales Manager
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • 21 years or older
  • Excellent technical knowledge of Apple and network hardware.
  • Hands on troubleshooting experience.
  • Working knowledge of current network protocols, operating systems and peripherals.
  • Ability to operate tools, components and peripheral accessories.
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation and OEM guides.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and relationship building skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to present solutions and ideas in a user-friendly language.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude in a high-pressure environment.
  • Self motivated with the ability to work in an unsupervised environment.
  • Reliable transportation is a must.
  • Understand and comply with company goals and objectives.
  • Obtain any company-required certification.

Education/Experience
College Degree preferred; or equivalent on the job experience required

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to see; drive; stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk and hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

Working Conditions
Work is performed at client sites that may be climate controlled, hot, damp, cold, drafty, or dimly lighted.

Macintosh Field Service Engineer

IrisInk, a division of Computer Stores Northwest (CSNW), provides enterprise-level technology and on-site networking services throughout the Great Northwest. We are currently in search of a Field Service Engineer to join our Seattle Team. This position requires industry experience and Apple ACTC certification within 6 months of hire.

The Field Service Engineer’s role is to travel to customer locations throughout Western Washington to provide premier consulting services and solutions to our clients. It is expected that our Sales Engineer will have the natural ability to articulate complex, technical matters in language appropriate for the client, ensuring that our clients have the right information and options necessary to make timely and informed decisions related to their technology.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 21 years or older
  • Apple ACTC certification required within 6 months of employment
  • Intermediate to Advanced experience with Windows XP, Windows 2003 and MSFT Active Directory desirable
  • Intermediate to Advanced experience planning, designing, implementing, configuring and troubleshooting systems in the small to medium business market
  • Good knowledge of Apple’s product line, including troubleshooting and diagnosing technical issues related to effective implementation of Apple technology, defining solutions, hardware, software, peripherals and services, assessment of customer’s infrastructure, deploying and maintaining Mac OS X Server Unix command line environment

Education/Experience
College Degree preferred; or equivalent on the job experience required

We are currently seeking a Customer Sales/Service Representative (CSSR) to join our Salem location. This position will have dual responsibilities. Some travel is required. A large percentage of the time will be spent in the store, assisting customers and making sales. House calls will be scheduled on an as-needed basis. House-Calls, or Outside Sales, generally pertains to the delivery and set-up of a new computer system and/or friendly, technical assistance to the end-user (customer). This position requires intermediate to advanced knowledge of Macintosh products, hardware and software. This position also requires excellent customer service, which means, treating the customers like gold.

This position will require that you become Apple Hardware Certified (company will pay for this training). There will also be other training opportunities available to enhance your knowledge of Apple/Macintosh hardware and software.

The Clackamas Mac Store

Customer Sales/Service Representatives

The Clackamas Mac Store will be located in the new additions of the Town Center. The estimated open date is April 28th, so we’re interviewing and hiring now. Interviews and training will be held at the Portland Mac Store @ 700 NE Multnomah, which is located near the Portland Lloyd Center. After training, you’ll relocate to the Clackamas Store.

Full Time and Part Time positions are available. All staff must be flexible and able to work days, nights, weekends and holidays, as needed. This position requires 1 to 2 years of successful retail sales experience. Basic to Intermediate experience and knowledge of Macintosh products.

In our fast-paced Macintosh retail sales environment, the Customer Sales/Service Representatives strengthen our reputation by making Customer Service a TOP priority.
